Jointly owned by Dale and Sean Baker. The POCR represents modern day switching on the prototype Tulsa Port of Catoosa Railroad. While the layout is proto-freelance, we use the industries located at the port and locomotives that feature liveries painted in their respective railroad. On any given Operations Session the operator will see BNSF, SKOL (Regional Railroad) and the occasional lease unit. POCR operates SW1500 and SW1200 locomotives, we have custom painted versions of these on the layout for switching operations. The layout uses Digitrax DCC with wireless capability and JRMI, WiiThrottles if the operator desires to use them. Rail movement is by Yard Limit and cars are switched with car cards. The POCR serves 12 different locations modeled on the layout. Traffic will consist of tanks, grain and bulk hoppers, flat cars, box cars and coil cars to name a few.
Typical operations sessions will run two and a half to three hours and can accommodate 2 to 4 operators. The layout has a 50” rail height above the floor for better viewing purposes. The layout is located upstairs non handicapped accessible in a smoke/pet free home. Restroom and crew lounge is located close by. At the POCR we stress slow movements, fun semi-protypical operations and a good time.
The HO PORT OF CATOOSA holds monthly operations sessions on the following schedule:
Even Months- the second Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 PM.
Winter hours- 1:00 to 4:00 PM November to March.
