The East Broad Top Railway was an industrial narrow gauge that brought coal, refractory sand and gannister rock out of the mountains and brought supplies and other goods to the many small villages. Ric has closely duplicated the many branches and operating practices of the prototype, where most trains overnight at Orbisonia, proceed up the mountain to switch specific mines, weigh loads at Robertsdale, then bring the minerals to Mount Union for processing and transfer to the Pennsylvania Ry. Recently he added the Shade Gap Branch as a second deck. Many of the mines on the EBT are closely modeled to a high quality.
In a full basement, it uses a complex of around-the-wall, peninsula and double deck, plus the sharp curves available in narrow gauge, to make very long runs.
Rick requests: PLEASE WEAR SHORT SLEEVES OR TIGHT SLEEVE CUFFS, due to hand throw switch stands in the scenery.
