The Fox River Division is historically freelanced as a focused operation within the Wisconsin/ Lake Shore Division territory of the Chicago and North Western Transportation Company in central Wisconsin. The Division is comprised of the Valley Subdivision, a secondary main line running timetable west from Fond du Lac to Green Bay, and the Kimberly Subdivision, a branch line running from Appleton to Manitowoc. “Carving” this Division out of the prototypically accurate “Wisconsin Division” of the early-1980s affords specific operational leadership and focus towards supporting the paper industry of the Fox River Valley.
The railroad hosts a branch line, the Brillion and Forest Junction Railroad, serving its namesake towns under a full-service trackage rights agreement over the North Western. Additionally, a haulage agreement over the Division with the Milwaukee Road provides a more direct connection between Green Bay and the Twin Cities for the Milwaukee.
The railroad is designed as a platform for timetable and train order operation. Its goal is to provide an avenue for the practice and preservation of operating practices lost to history. The host is committed to fostering an open, friendly environment to expose beginning operators to prototypical TT&TO operation, as well as provide seasoned enthusiasts with the challenge of running a miniature transportation system.
