Durango & Silverton

Layout Description

The Durango & Silverton is a point to point railroad running from Durango Colorado to Silverton Colorado. The elevation ranges from 6,500 ft above sea level in Durango to 9,300 ft above sea level in Silverton. The era is 1960, just before the railroad changed over to a tourist railroad. Originally built by Doug Tagsold the railroad resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in a 2,000 sq ft room built especially for the railroad. The D&S is larger than originally built and many details have been added along with additional equipment allowing for more diverse operations. The owner, Tom Dart has gone to great lengths to offer access to the railroad to many by allowing visitors and frequent op sessions.

ON3 Point to Point railroad designed by Doug Tagsold for operations. Much switching and main line running w/mine runs, freight & passenger trains. All locomotives are brass with sound & wireless throttles.
