Layout Description

Potomac Valley Lines is based on the prototype of the railroads along the banks of the Potomac River in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. near Martinsburg, W.Va. The B&O, PRR and Western Maryland Railroads are represented on my layout. The B&O is modeled from Brunswick, Md. (East Staging) to Cumberland, Md. (West Staging) and includes the towns of Martinsburg, W.Va., Hancock, Md. , Paw Paw, W.VA. and Cherry Run, W.Va. The big main yard is CUMBO yard near Martinsburg. Switching jobs are at Berkeley Springs, W.Va, Paw Paw, W.Va. and Frog Hollow Industrial Park on the B&O: Williamsport and Big Pool, Md. on the WMRR and Martinsburg, W.Va. on the Pennsy. Typical crew: one yardmaster, three switching jobs, two road jobs and one dispatcher. Layout has handicap access if you park in the back alley and use rear entry to house, call for details.
