Rocky Mountain Central & the Colorado Pacific

Layout Description

The Rocky Mountain Central (HO) and the Colorado Pacific (HOn3) are based on the D&RGW and the Rio Grande Southern in the mid 50s. Steam is still the primary motive power (most with sound). The layout features two large yards, a dual gauge interchange, logging operations, Geodesic Foam mountains that extend to the floor, laser etched control panels, and a unique benchwork design that allows easy access to under layout work.

The layout is 25' x 25'. It is operated with Digitrax DCC and dispatcher controlled signals on the RMC while the CP is dark territory requiring Train Orders. Car forwarding is done by car cards and waybills. Operating sessions require a Grand Junction yard master/Hostler, a Grand Junction Switcher, a Durango yard master, Narrow Gauge Logging, and four road engineers.
